HobbyIQ is a small, founder-run tool. We built this to help sports card collectors make smarter decisions. Here's exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we don't do.

What we collect

When you sign up for the daily digest, we collect:

  • Your email address — to send you the digest
  • Your sports preferences (e.g. baseball, basketball) — to personalize your digest
  • Your top players — so we can surface news about cards you actually care about
  • Your collector type (buyer, seller, or both) — to frame market news from your perspective
  • Your IP address at signup — for basic spam and abuse prevention, not stored long-term

When you use the fee calculator, we collect nothing. No account, no tracking, no cookies.

How we use your data

Your data is used for exactly one purpose: sending you a personalized daily sports card hobby digest. That's it.

  • Your email is used to deliver the digest each morning at 8am ET
  • Your sports and player preferences are passed to our AI to personalize your digest
  • Your collector type shapes how market news is framed for you

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We do not use it to build profiles or track you across the web.

Who sees your data

Your signup data is stored in our database (hosted on Neon/PostgreSQL). When your digest is generated, your preferences are sent to an AI model (via OpenAI-compatible API) to generate personalized content. The digest is then delivered via Postmark.

None of these services receive your email address for marketing purposes — they're infrastructure providers processing data on our behalf.

How to unsubscribe or delete your data

Every digest email includes a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you'll never hear from us again.

If you want your data fully deleted from our database, email us at hi@hobbyiq.app with the subject "Delete my data" and we'll remove everything within 48 hours.

Cookies & analytics

The HobbyIQ site uses a minimal, privacy-respecting analytics pixel to count page visits (no personal data, no cross-site tracking). We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any behavioral advertising trackers.

No cookies are set unless you explicitly sign up for the digest.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how we handle your data in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and send a notice in the digest. The "last updated" date at the top reflects when this was last changed.
